Multilingualism and integration in preschool: A linguistic ethnographic analysis of the interaction between teachers, parents and children
This linguistic ethnographic dissertation presents a case study of a preschool in the Dutch-speaking part of Belgium. The preschool, population consists of 3-to-5-year-old children, of whom almost 50 percent do not have Dutch as their main home language. The research investigates the key roles of teachers and parents in the preschool’s efforts to accommodate multilingualism and promote integration.
