Mindfulness and Burnout

Tamar Orjonikidze
This thesis focused on the employees with burnout history in Belgium to investigate their experiences of returning to work after burnout and to examine how mindfulness practices can support them during the reintegration period.

Diversity in the Advertising and Marketing of Fashion Industries

Vartui Strakeniants
In a rapidly changing world, it is of crucial importance to represent diversity in the advertising and marketing of fashion industries. Diversity should be embraced, and marketers must endeavour for approaches that eradicate stereotypes, racism, or tokenism. Representing diversity in advertisements and marketing will result in gains in revenue and brand perception

Are Sigh conditioned responses

Ellen Palmers
Kan men leren zuchten?

Vonkerosie van koolstofvezel versterkte kunststof

Joris Claes

The impact of physical exercise on unconscious thought processes and decision making.

Stef Jeuris
This study deals with the research question: “Is physical activity a potential distracter task for future research in the field of unconscious thought processes?” The discussion consists of three parts, and each of these parts contributes in a specific manner to the argument that results in the answer of the research question.                The first part, which discussed the literature on UTT and physical activity, immediately provides an (indirect) argument for a positive response to the research question. The article ‘Food For Thought?

Additionality of R&D support for Young Innovative Companies

Lorenz De Smedt Stijn Kelchtermans
1 Problem definition and research questionsYoung Innovative Companies (YICs) play a crucial role in today’s innovation landscape. Because these companies spend at least 15 percent of their budget on R&D, they are considered to be highly innovative. Moreover, these companies are also very young, small and often lack financial resources. Therefore, they face so-called innovation boundaries that prevent them from intensifying their innovation and R&D activities.

In Pursuit of the Cinematic: Film Theory in the Silent Era

Ella Diels
Early Film Theory: An IntroductionThe cinema was created in the last decade of the nineteenth century. It was not the only technical novelty developed at the time, but belonged to a range of other late-industrial inventions, such as the telephone (1876), the phonograph (1877) and the automobile (1880s and 1890s) (Bordwell; Thompson 2010: 3). It soon became part of the nineteenth-century entertainment industry. More specifically, it belonged to the late-Victorian visual culture, along with circuses, freak shows, music halls, vaudeville shows, world expositions and panoramas.

Sara Vermeulen
This master thesis investigates the integration of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in the banking sector since the financial crisis of 2008. The purpose of this research is twofold. Firstly, there will be explored whether the CSR policies in the banking sector have changed due to the financial crisis. Secondly, this thesis seeks to find the main motives of the CSR implementation. The research paper is divided into seven chapters in which the first one explains the origin, definitions and motives of CSR.  The motives of CSR policies could be economically, socially or legally based.

Social and Economic Influence of Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Flander Belgium

Khalid Saiffullah
Migration has a long history since the birth of humanity. The largest movements of people in history were the barbarian migrations that overran the Roman Empire in the 4th and 5th centuries AD and the Atlantic Migration to the Americas from the early 1800s to the early decades of the 20th century. For a thousand years, from the end of the Roman Empire in the West until the middle of the 15th century, the history of Europe, Asia, and North Africa consists of an almost unbroken series of invasions, wars, and conquests.
