De rol van therapeut-patiënt communicatie en de impact op gezondheidsuitkomsten.

Introductie
Er werden niet zoveel studies verricht die de ervaringen van patiënten en het verband met therapeut-patiënt communicatie hebben onderzocht (C. Mccabe, 2003). Het doel van deze studie is om de literatuur betreffende de rol van therapeut-patiënt communicatie te doorgronden en de impact op de gezondheidsuitkomsten te beschrijven. Een optimale therapeut-patiëntrelatie wordt geassocieerd met betere behandelresultaten, een hogere therapietrouwheid en een grotere tevredenheid van de patiënt (Mccabe et al. 2018).
Methode
De onderzoekers pasten de bibliografische methode toe, dit betekent termen ingeven in een wetenschappelijke zoekmachine. De operators ‘OR’ en ‘AND’ werden gebruikt. De relevante artikels werden opgeslagen op Mendeley en hieruit werden ze gelezen met als doel interessante, bruikbare informatie voor deze studie te achterhalen. Deze artikels werden onderworpen aan een kwaliteitsbeoordeling van GFASAS.
Resultaten
Deveugele et al. (2015) noteerden dat het geen twijfel lijdt dat de communicatie tussen therapeut en patiënt een cruciaal element vormde binnen de gezondheidszorg (Deveugele et al., 2015). Aan de hand van efficiënte en patiëntgerichte communicatie ontstaat er vloeiend een vertrouwensband tussen de therapeut en hun patiënt. Dit heeft op zijn beurt een positieve invloed op de therapietrouwheid, het behandelplan en de gezondheidsuitkomsten wat dan opnieuw bevorderend is voor de levenskwaliteit van de patiënt (Mccabe & Healey, 2018).
Discussie
Non-verbale communicatie wordt als essentiëler beschouwd dan verbale communicatie. In tegenstelling tot wat Dossett et al.(2021) beschreven, is er volgens Hall et al.(2010) geen sluitend bewijs welke factoren er het meeste invloed hebben binnen de non-verbale communicatie (Hall et al., 2010).
