THE INFLUENCE OF THE MENSTRUAL CYCLE ON THE ORTHOSTATIC TOLERANCE IN WOMEN.

Het doel van dit onderzoek was om na te gaan of de menstruele cyclus enige invloed had op de bloeddruk. We wilden controleren of vrouwen in hun menstruele fase meer last hadden van een lagere bloeddruk dan in hun niet menstruele fase, wat zou kunnen leiden tot flauwvallen. Dit hebben we getest door ze op een tilt tafel te laten staan gedurende 45min, dat is een tafel die geïnclineerd staat in een hoek van 60°. De test werd uitgevoerd tijdens de menstruele cyclus en ook 10dagen later. Indien de test kon aantonen dat de meerderheid van de vrouwen flauwvalt  tijdens hun menstruele cyclus (door een plotse bloeddrukval), dan zou ons onderzoek bewijzen dat de menstruele cyclus een invloed heeft op de bloeddruk.

We hebben in totaal 27 proefpersonen gevonden.  We hadden de vrouwen opgedeeld in 2 groepen: zij die geen  anticonceptie nemen en zij die dit wel nemen. Gedurende de 45min werden er om de 5min verschillende parameters gemeten: harstslag, hartritme en de bloeddruk. We hebben hierop bepaalde statistieken uitgevoerd en zijn tot de conclusie gekomen dat de menstruele cyclus geen invloed heeft op de bloeddruk.
