Insects as food

Insecten als voeding: de toekomst, of toch niet?

Het wordt wel eens gezegd dat insecten het voedsel van de toekomst is. Het eten van insecten is meer en meer een actueel thema aan het worden. 

InleidingStel het u eens voor: geen vlees of vis meer op je bord, maar insecten. Zul je sneller geneigd zijn het te gaan eten als iedereen het doet? Of blijf je walgen bij het idee alleen al? Deze thesis heeft een kijk op het feit of mensen hun walg-neiging kunnen overwinnen door het zien eten van insecten door andere mensen. Om dit te testen werd een real-life experiment uitgevoerd.

Kerngedachte en resultatenZoals reeds aangehaald, onderzoekt dit artikel of mensen sneller geneigd zijn om, tijdens hun eerste kennismaking met insectenvoeding, te gaan proeven als ze een voorbeeld hebben. Helaas gaf ons onderzoek hier geen significante resultaten. Er konden wel andere interessante conclusies getrokken worden uit ons onderzoek: mensen die sociaal interageren zullen sneller geneigd zijn om te gaan proeven. Daarnaast toont ons onderzoek ook aan dat het aantal toeschouwers van belang is: hoe meer toeschouwers, hoe minder geneigd mensen zullen zijn om te gaan proeven.
