Re-shuttle, de oplossing voor het ecologisch probleem in badminton.
Re-shuttle is een concept dat een oplossing biedt voor de ecologische impact die badmintonshuttles met zich meebrengen. De korte levensduur die shuttles bezitten zorgt voor een zeer grote impact op de afvalberg die gecreëerd wordt, aangezien ze niet recycleerbaar zijn. Het doel van Re-shuttle is het verlengen van deze levensduur en de aandacht voor het probleem groter maken. De gebruiker krijgt door middel van halfautomatische handelingen de mogelijkheid zijn eigen shuttles te herstellen, met inspraak in meerdere fasen van het proces.
Het toestel kan in drie grote fasen opgedeeld worden. Het eerste deel bevat vooral de opslag en selectie van de shuttles. Gebruikers kiezen zelf of ze een bepaalde shuttle gaan herstellen of volledig recycleren. Ook beslist hij welke veren vervangen zullen worden. De tweede fase zorgt voor het herstel zelf. Door de shuttle in te klemmen en positioneren op de juiste plaatsen kunnen de verschillende onderdelen van het toestel in werking worden gesteld, waardoor de moeilijke acties worden overgenomen. Ten slotte is er de controlefase, waarbij de gebruiker kan controleren of het vluchtpatroon van de herstelde shuttle wel voldoet aan de eisen die hij zelf stelt. Indien nodig kunnen er altijd kleine aanpassingen gedaan worden.
Re-shuttle zorgt ook voor recyclage van de resten. Deze resten worden bewaard in het toestel en op regelmatige basis verzameld door de aangekoppelde service. De resten worden dan verspreid bij verschillende partners die deze zullen herwerken tot grondstoffen voor nieuwe producten.
Re-shuttle wordt beschikbaar gesteld op twee manieren. Sportclubs kunnen door een leasecontract Re-shuttle ter beschikking krijgen. Op die manier kunnen de spelers van deze clubs gebruik maken van het toestel wanneer het hun het beste uitkomt. Ook zal Re-shuttle verhandeld worden aan sportverdelers en besnaarders. Zij kunnen het toestel professioneel gebruiken door shuttles in grote hoeveelheden te herstellen. Om Re-shuttle zo veel mogelijk onder de aandacht te brengen is het dan ook belangrijk dat er zoveel mogelijk gebruik gemaakt wordt van het toestel op toernooien, evenementen e.d.
