Na 55 jaar sluiting van de Sint-Jacobskerk te Leuven maakt deze thesis een volledig overzicht van het verleden tot nu, dit op historisch, als structureel, als sociaal vlak. Hierna wordt een herbestemming voor deze kerk voorgesteld.

Adaptive Reuse through a layered reading system:
This thesis investigates the connection between representation and atmosphere and uses this as a tool to analyse the layered complexity of historical sites. The study emphasizes the importance of subjective research methods and interdisciplinary research to complete the common fact-based investigation of historic sites.
