Voor de verbetering van de compressie behandeling van veneuze ulcers, worden de drukken van de steunkous op het been bestudeerd met behulp van een druksensor en een app. Het effect van verschillende posities van de sensor op het been en het effect van verschillende houdingen van het been zullen opgemeten worden om het onderzoek naar slimme steunkousen te versnellen.

Deze masterproef exploreert de toegankelijkheid van de tandarts voor OCMW-cliënten. Dit omvat zowel personen met een laag inkomen, als asielzoekers en personen zonder wettig verblijf. De werking van het OCMW en de drempels ervaren door zowel de OCMW-cliënt als tandarts werden nagegaan. Verder werd voor deze kwetsbare doelgroep de toegankelijkheid van de gezondheidszorg voor arts en tandarts vergeleken.

Een (socio)logischere invulling van noodzakelijke duurzaamheidstransities?Een leefbare maatschappij staat op ieders verlanglijstje naar geluk. Om dat na te streven worden denken en handelen in termen van duurzaamheid en duurzame ontwikkeling met de seconde crucialer. Het is daarom hoog tijd om intensief te investeren in structurelere wijzigingen die een langetermijnvisie uitdragen. Dat kan doorheen duurzaamheidstransities met systeeminnovaties.  Inzichten uit de sociologie kunnen heel wat bijdragen om deze te optimaliseren.

This paper analyses how the European Union (EU) dealt with its banking crisis specifically in the aspect of cross-border banking resolution. The first part of the paper presents that currently, there is a mismatch between the level of financial integration amongst cross-border EU banks and the fragmented regulatory setting it adheres to. However, there were at the very least, some form of harmonisation in terms of regulation and supervision in the EU. What was completely missing from the picture was any form of harmonisation for a resolution framework.

Abstract
In deze paper werden drie Belgische Franstalige kranten (Le Peuple, La Libre Belgique en Le Soir) getoetst op hun houding ten opzichte van de Joodse kwestie eind jaren dertig (1938-1940). Via dit personderzoek werd er ook een beeld geschetst van de publieke opinie tegenover Joden in Brussel en Wallonië net voor de Tweede Wereldoorlog.

Hoe kan een lokale investering in toegankelijkheid een investering zijn in de toekomst?Dat het aantal mensen met een beperking in de komende jaren, mede als gevolg van de vergrijzing van bevolking en de vooruitgang van de wetenschap, zal wel niemand verbazen. Neem daarnaast noch een persoon met een gebroken been  die het moeilijk heeft om het openbaar vervoer te gebruiken of een leverancier met een zware last moet doos per doos binnenbrengen omdat zijn wagentje de vijf treden naar de ingang niet kan nemen dan komt men tot een zeer grote groep van mensen die met een ‘toegankelijkheidsprobleem’

 
This thesis aims to contribute to a broader research on the tension between heritage and retail in historic city centres in Europe. 2 research questions are worked out: Which type of buildings can be suitable for retail reuse? And how can retail design respect the historic value of the monument? Although retail design is an interdisciplinary activity which still needs extensive research in the field of urban planning, retail design, legislation, economics, public funding systems, etc. the focus of this thesis is on conservation.

Iedereen is wel op de een of andere manier bekend met het fenomeen “pesten op school”. Tegenwoordig wordt er veel media-aandacht aan besteed en nog anderen hebben persoonlijke ervaringen met pesten. Vaak gaat men ervan uit dat kinderen die gepest worden enkele typerende kenmerken bezitten. Een algemeen aanvaard kenmerk van de slachtoffers van pesterijen is hun sensitieve en stille manier van doen (Vergeer, 2008). Hierbij kunnen we ons afvragen of er een link bestaat met de karaktertrek “hooggevoeligheid”.

To start off this defence, I will sketch the problems concerning the theology of the cross that my research has inquired into. Next, I will briefly outline the scope of my research, sketching the answers proposed by the feminist theologians in my reading and finally I will voice the results I arrived at.

 
This thesis describes how the social-ecological system around the Mara wetlands has changed during the previous five decades. These wetlands are mainly fed by the Mara River, which has its sources in the Kenyan Mau Escarpment. After flowing through two worldfamous wildlife parks (Serengeti and Maasai Mara), it continues in the downstream Tanzanian Mara wetlands and finally flows out in Lake Victoria.
The major focus of this thesis is on how the riparian Wakenye people in Northwest Tanzania have adapted their livelihoods to the changing context.

 Migration has a long history since the birth of humanity. The largest movements of people in history were the barbarian migrations that overran the Roman Empire in the 4th and 5th centuries AD and the Atlantic Migration to the Americas from the early 1800s to the early decades of the 20th century. For a thousand years, from the end of the Roman Empire in the West until the middle of the 15th century, the history of Europe, Asia, and North Africa consists of an almost unbroken series of invasions, wars, and conquests.
